1.“Innovation is the soul of a nation's progress and the power resource of a nation's prosperity and development.” By the call of ex-Chinese president Jiang Zheming, Tsinghua University with some of other key universities were? endowed a responsibility of selecting and teaching “gifted innovative talents in China.” Thus, since 1999, professors and experts from Tsinghua and Yuncol E-learning Lab discussed the poor efficiency with enrolling innovative students from national college entrance examination. There is a widespread belief that from Tsinghua’s early stage of enrolling gifted students, Tsinghua gained wonderful successful experiences. For instances, Luogeng Hua, Weichang Qian, Zhongshu Qian, Han Wu were enrolled at that time, who later has become masters in their academic areas. In comparison, the current national unified entrance examination needs to be reformed.
１.With the advanced technology and general use of internet, have given the effective platform to practice many ?educational evaluation methods such as: process assessment, formative evaluation, e-portfolio assessment, Socratic seminars assessment, authentic evaluation, etc. and the possibility of large-scale promotion in the global education system.
2.A major reform of the Chinese college admission system.
In 2003, Ministry of education of China supported the idea of reform of admission system and encouraged the college self-determination of the students' admission policy in order to promote the “education for all-round development”. That same year, Ministry of education officially approved 22 key universities to be experiment colleges of self-determined admission.
Until 2006, Ministry of education
gave step efforts to reform the admission system and increased the experiment universities to 53. At the same time, more than 5% (the upper limit percentage) of total accepted students were enrolled in this way.

３.The original of Tsinghua -Yuncol E-portfolio Assessment (TEA)program.
This program is focus on establishing an information system which is different from the traditional ways of communication between senior schools and universities by using high-technology especially current computer and network technology. Do a useful exploration by implementing the “education for all-round development”, promoting evaluation mechanisms, and the reform of college admission system.
Since 2004,the TEA program was a national research program that helps Tsinghua University to identify and admit students by holistic assessment with internet e-portfolio. It has been run by Tsinghua University and Yuncol e-learning Lab. This program was sponsored by Ministry of Education of People ‘s Republic of China between 2003-2006.By TEA Program, Chinese Middle and High school students who are interested in Tsinghua University submit their materials to our program through our website over the course of their middle or high school years. The materials include the GPAs, test scores, essays of free choices; projects and other material that they think are part of their package and relevant to our program. An assessment committee consisting of renowned professors, not limited to Tsinghua University, constantly evaluates the materials and provides feedbacks to the students.
４.Tsinghua-Yuncol E-learning Lab was established
In the April of 2000, Tsinghua University and Yuncol e-learning lab jointly founded Tsinghua-Yuncol E-learning lab. Zongkai Shi (a deputy secretary general of Tsinghua University) acted as director of the lab and Dr. Feng Han as the executive director.
